I think that becoming a doctor requires a certain level of intelligence most would deem “smart”. Certainly there are intelligent physicians,but there are also physicians who are less intelligent than some of their patients. Ergo, the “M.D.” credential after a person’s name doesn’t necessarily denote a person with world-class intellect.
